2003 Hair-O-Scope:
Why
Hello there Kittens and Cats. And welcome to your Winter Hair-O-Scope.
I feel like Ricardo Montalban from Fantasy Island.. "Welcome,
Welcome, ... Everyone".
I hope all of you had a delightful holiday season; I certainly was
a very busy bee.
I must say thanks to all of our fantastic clients for making
this year such a success! We have had an overwhelming positive response
from everyone and I am so delighted to work with everyone and create
all day.
I wish all of you a year of Peace, Good fortune and Superstar Karma!

CAPRICORN (Dec.22
to Jan.19)
Hey wake up your hair needs a love life too! I think your hair may
want a little bit of attention!!
PROCEED WITH RECKLESS ABANDON!!!
Come on you never want to proceed with reckless abandon. Okay then
whisper to a shout… you decide.
But it is a new year and perhaps you need to give your hair that great
love it longs for!
I am all about texture this season in little or lot.
A little romance for spring, and curls are back in session.
I couldn't imagine a more lovely time seeing as the weather is damp
and you can't keep hair smooth anyhow. Check out the new irons available
for texture. Triple irons, ceramic irons, and z -irons. The way this
is going I will not be surprised to see crimping back. That's right
I said it CRIMPING!!!!!! The biggest trend for the season is mixing
these textures. A traditional curling iron with the z-iron waves,
different looking curls coinciding in harmony on your head. How delightful.
Ride the wave… hahahaha… oh I am loopy in the winter.
AQUARIUS (Jan.20
to Feb.18)
Patrick Swayze called and he wants his mullet back! SCARY, but I swear
I am still seeing boys in fashion with this. It helps to be handsome
and have this fantastic accent. However lets see them with this when
they are forty! I think the oddest thing about male styles is that
once they have a short cut they won't grow it back out.
Women are so much better at growing out our hair and camouflaging
the in-between stage.
Gentlemen must suffer through the cowlicks, the stand straight up
type of business. It's like wearing a hat that keeps moving! My best
advice is keep it texturized, and follows your head form when you
style.
Actually the very best tip I have is product, get your hands on some
pomade, grooming cream, or some wax. It is the very best way to control
your hair without giving up the style.
If you happen to be lucky enough to be mullet-free… then read
on unless you are a bohemian tramp… just kidding! No bohemian
tramps or mullet wearers were injured in making this Hair-O-Scope.
Contradictions in hair are the worst, let's examine shall we…
Wispy fine hair + waist length = no good
Dense straight hair+ cropped shag = undeniable wig head
Natural black hair + vast amounts of peroxide = Shakira
Natural olive skin tone + orange hair = really unattractive
Now let's work on
the variables and making the end result work for you, let's try again.
Wispy fine hair + layered cut, soft fringe cut, short angled bob,
or chin length flip = fabulouso!
Dense straight hair + long texturized layers, concave bob, or shoulder
length layered =no wig here baby!
Natural black hair + soft caramel with blonde accents, slices of beige
and light brown =saucy!
Natural olive + mocha, natural browns with neutral highlights, balanced
browns and gold = smashing
PISCES (Feb.19
to March 20)
Hello Pisces you sure look swell! So shimmy into that party dress
and start making the rounds. Now what else do you need?
Perhaps a sassy upswept new do? I suggest you make an appointment
with your hairdresser and do a little something something. There are
so many fantastic ways to wear your hair up be it long or short.
One of the most fantastic things you can do to change your style slightly
is to find some really great vintage hair accessories. Not only do
you find the very best quality in vintage barrettes, and you are the
only one who has it. It's likely you can also find a really great
necklace and earrings to match as well.
I am a vintage handbag obsessed!! You never ever find the style of
the forties or fifties reproduced well. All this square Kate Spade
business is just too much!
Vintage stores and resale shops can really inspire your style and
bring out some creative ideas you wouldn't have been as adventurous
to try if you had to pay for it at the mall.
Not that you would see all of this diversity at the mall anyhow! Once
you check it out I bet you will be hooked!
ARIES (March
21 to April 19)
If the fashionista's have their way we will all be IVANA'd out by
spring!
I am certainly not encouraging the frightening big blonde hair with
black eyeliner and enough mascara to write a letter.
I see it though and it's my duty to warn all of you my faithful hair
friends! I do see some big hair in for spring. Its not so much the
mall bangs Jersey girl old school Dance Party USA, more of the Catherine
Deneuve glam. The problem is that it's so easy to turn fifties and
sixties chic volume into the scary mall thing!! It's really about
keeping the top of hair smooth regardless of what's underneath it.
I think it would be surprising to most people to see what goes into
a style that looks effortless and really has hot rollers, backcombing,
and a can of hairspray. Now think of what work goes into the really
big hair.
I am not saying you can't try this but if you do remember to keep
the rest simple! Simple and pretty makeup and a simple shift dress
and I think you have it.
You can also get volume from a curling iron if you spray the sections
after you curl your hair. Just don't break them up until you are entirely
finished and use a little spray shine over to calm down frizzes.
I really love to add a cute headband or tiara to curly hair I tie
knots into the hair to build it up around the hair accessory. It's
cool and modern.
TAURUS (April
20 to May 20)
Okay so I was just in New York and I was all excited about checking
out fashion and checking out all the department stores. I did go shopping,
however what I learned about New York City is: don't go there for
Thanksgiving! I adore New York, and I can easily imagine myself living
there. I just never imagined that everyone within a fifty-mile radius
would get on a tour bus and head to Manhatten!
So I saw lots and lots of tourists with the gap striped scarves /
hat combo. Which I am not saying I have a problem with!
I am simply informing y'all that I saw them on three-year-old girls
and ninety year old ladies.
It just goes to show that it doesn't really matter where in fact you
might be at this very minute because whatever inspires you to be happy
and challenged is what you need.
I didn't need leg warmers to tell me that!! I do appreciate the fact
that my sister had many more pairs than I!!
I certainly hope that you find your inspiration this season when it
can get a little dark and gray. I am very fortunate to love the winter.
It seems that the earth is crisp and a bit cleaner when winter is
over. I am starting another photo shoot in spring and starting to
draw inspiration from the winter. It is so exciting once you start
to look into seasons how beautiful winter truly is. It's cozy and
quiet, the icicles are so beautiful, and small children are bundled
up like sumo wrestlers.. Ahh. Winter.
Gemini (May 21
to June 20)
You certainly don't need reality television to show you that you are
a competitive, smart, glass of lemonade.
Perhaps it's time to get crafty. I am taking up sewing myself! You
might want to consider woven potholders, play dough anything, and
the ever popular light bright. I suggest that you go out and put the
smack down on your local thrift store and visit your toys of youth.
Play with them and if you miss your old crafty toys bring them home
from the land of misfit toys!
I had some lunch trays that I found from a thrift store and oftentimes
I would make a pseudo school lunch (sans the meat and by products!),
it was so much fun!
You are a Gemini and that means you don't really need any sort of
affirmation from anyone! Just don't get too wacky this month. That
tattoo will be with you until you get laser removal.
CANCER (June
21 to July 22)
Hey why not take this time to make up your own hair game? Yeah I know
you were just thinking of this the other day. NOT. Well anyhow, it
could be fantastic fun for the whole family.
You simply name a category and follow suit.
Perhaps the titles will go as follows:
Famous Red Heads include: Lucille Ball, Bozo the clown, Rita Hayworth,
Jessica Rabbit, Carrot Top (I know he scares me too!), Ann Magnuson,
Mick Hucknall (Simply Red), and yours truly.
Perhaps you could play "I can name that blonde in six clues".
Then your challenger must say either "I can name that blonde
in five clues" or they can challenge you and say, "Name
that blonde".
What about brunettes that are overlooked because they are not blondes
or redheads!
You will have to come up with your own prizes cause you are very clever!
My best advice is to stay away from the pop teen category of blondes
it will only confuse you.
Anyhow have fun and behave yourself. No matter what happens remember
you can always take off a wig and always consult with your stylist
when you are in a wacky mood!
Leo (July 23
to August 22)
Take a little time out this season to give back to whatever inspires
you! There is nothing more rewarding than a good deed, so figure out
what or who are your inspirations and find a way to give back.
My salon is such a fantastic place to do this daily, we have so many
opportunities to show clients how much we appreciate them.
Stay creative and it will show in your life, your work and your soul.
I believe the older we get the harder it is to stay aware of our creativity
and inspiration. We become so busy with things that we "have"
to do instead of what we "want" to do. So find a way to
merge your haves and wants and I think you will find life to go a
bit easier for the Leo!
On a wacky note, and yes there always is one! Stay away from perms
because I believe that there is no reward there!
Someday I will get in huge trouble for my major dislike of the perm.
Well let's look at famous perms..
Mrs. Roper from three's company.. Not good!
Any male teacher you had in the seventies. This was of course to give
the illusion that A. he had a fro and B. that he wasn't bald.
What about the jerricurl Prince perm that went nowhere fast! But Prince
is one handsome fella so let's let it slide!
Virgo (August
22 to September 21)
Virgo, I sense you are becoming obsessed with gel again. Just kidding.
Not that some people aren't obsessed with hair care products. Anyone
doubting that should come on over and tour my bathroom closets! We
are attending a conference for Redken this week, which should be quite
exciting because of all of the education, and well it is sin city.
What is most exciting is the launching of new products! So as soon
as I am back I will let all of you know of new and crazy things. There
is a new color conditioner called Redken Color Injection that I adore!
I must advise you that the colors are extremely vibrant and the pigments
are very strong almost like coloring your hair!! They condition hair
beautifully as well.
So Virgo, never fear as long as you have an interest in being product
obsessed you will always have manufacturers making new fancy and wacky
things.
Libra (September
22 to October 22)
According to Allure magazine you will have a dramatic shift in planetary
energies, which brings renewed interest in people you thought had
all but forgotten you. Put past resentments aside and court these
people as if you are meeting them for the first time. Now I think
that is a huge bunch of what not!
How can you forget you know people especially if you have had "issues".
At least I am thinking about you and your hair here!!
Don't ever hang around with people who are just jealous of your hair.
Just kidding. People are bound to be jealous of you, and why not cause
you got it going on! You just stay confident and check out all your
options in life, and of course that includes your hair. I actually
just found a polish color that I love that I didn't even know existed!
I will share cause I am like that… It's from OPI and it's called
THE THRILL OF BRAZIL. I just love it. It's sort of a wild orange red
and it matches my hair. So see fate has brought this polish to me
in a very serendipitous way!
Look for the signs they are all there!
Scorpio (October
23 to November 21)
Did you watch I love the 80's on VH1? I watched all of them and believe
me I remembered every school dance I ever went to. Why do the short
boys always want to dance with me? Not that I have anything against
short boys because I don't, they are very charming and fantastic.
I was thinking about the 80's and this modern Mohawk and what has
come back to fashion now. I think the 80's will always be a part of
fashion because it was the era, which collected from so many other
ages.
I actually love to see kids with things that have been done but modified.
The only thing I don't get about kids now is the whole dirty look,
why it's cool to look as dirty as possible? It's very odd to me! It's
all about "check me out, I don't bathe or nothing". My pants
are filthy and I haven't changed my underpants in months! Wahoo I
am super cool.
Okay yeah, I find it not that appealing, plus dirty hair smells so
gross, believe me I have seen it all.
Anyhow Scorpio, you just stay as zestascious as you are! Keep on RAWKING
(I was going to say trucking, but I changed it.. is it any better??)
Sagittarius (November22
to December 20)
Hello Kitty called and she wants her bow back! Well guess what Sagittarius
I am so completely guilty of having the loopy hair accessories! I
keep saying to myself "when I am forty, I won't wear these barrettes
anymore". Fact remains I LOVE my barrettes and I don't think
I will ever give them up.
The moral of this story is there are things that people might look
at you a bit strangely for. Things your family might mock you about.
Things that your coworkers may stare at, but do not give in to this
society pressure (unless you have a femullet, or comb over! Then you
are on your own).
Perhaps they are simply jealous of your whimsy and long for the time
when they themselves had a bow.
To once again quote AUNTIE MAME "LIFE'S A BANQUET AND SOME POOR
SUCKERS ARE STARVING TO DEATH!"

2002 Hair-O-Scope:
Why...
it's FALL!
It's my absolute favorite season of all.... I am sure that some of
you will agree with me, most especially if you live in the Midwest.
Change
of season brings with it (how did you know this was coming?) CHANGE
of HAIR... It's also the greatest time for change because fall brings
with it so many options for color in fashion!
Fall
clothing always has really great texture. Think chunky sweaters, textured
scarves, and the shoes oh yeah the shoes.
Virgo:
August 22-September 21
You are
all about the earthy change of season and rightly so.. most everyone
can warm up their hair for fall.
Blondes can add a little strawberry or apricot to liven tresses, brunettes
are always zesty in auburn or copper hues. This gives you the Virgo
a perfect reason to dive into the caramel, mocha, golds, reds, and
burgundies on your lips eyes and closets! So make a day of it .. visit
your hairdresser and go on a makeover hair day.. you know you deserve
it!
Libra:
September 22-October 22
Happy Birthday
to the Libra's! What could be more fantastic than if someone gave
you a gift certificate?
To your favorite salon.. Leave hints because when it comes to beauty
a girl's gotta let people know that
It's okay to pamper!
We aren't
seeing so much of the sun in the fall.. So that means that you have
to highlight a bit more, or
if you are considering change this is the perfect time! Your hair
won't fade as much when you don't
have to worry about the summer sun. Go red; darker, browner, any warm
tone that matches your skin tone and you will have excellent luck
with your colors this season!
The fashionista
in the Libra knows where it's at.. but if you feel like you don't.
just remember this.. Pretend that you do! Believe me it doesn't take
much for someone with a bit of attitude to show up and be noticed.
I love to see someone walking down the street who has their own style
and sort of stands alone. Create your own style with what you are
comfortable with and what you want to be.
You don't
need a personal shopper or a style editor to tell you what the best
look for you may be.. Just check in with your hairdresser for fresh
ideas and decide what you want to be for fall.. Have fun!

I know
you have been watching American Idol and you have seen those
chunky huge highlights… please note these are not realistic for
your daily life. I strongly suggest that you have your hairdresser
highlight in some chunkier pieces in the middle of your hair before
you put them on the part line or top of your hair.. Because once they
are there.. It is VERY DIFFICULT to put tint back into the top to
make it look natural.
I don't
think there is much worse than urine yellow slices in black hair….
believe me I used to work there..ahahahahaha oh a little Halloween
humor never hurt anyone…
Sagittarius:
November 22-December 20
Gaze into
the crystal ball and you will see your future.. it will be full of
ghoulish delights.. but you must start planning now before the season
is upon you.. will it be a beehive or a devilish do? Let's talk about
lashes and brows this season.. longer lashes with more natural tints
are popular and brows are much more natural.. be gone the wicked squiggle
with a line eyebrow of the mid nineties.They were ghastly… and
now onto the cool winter skin.. best advice start NOW.
If you
wait to treat your skin you have already lost half of the battle.
Winter skin means you can use heavier creams, eye care products and
lip moisturizers. I am in love with Burt's Bees Carrot day cream.

Time for
a little Zen beauty, inner beauty is more important than outer beauty.
There are so many lovely ways of working on your mantra side. You
could …
Make a
Zen garden, think of it as you read this. The beautiful sand the rocks
the serenity. It's all about you baby! Go and get a massage, you know
you want to and you deserve it! Such a nice way to lose the winter
Woes!!
Stretch, take care of your body and it will take care of you. Some
yoga, a fall walk, it's all good.
Paint,
sketch, sculpt, or just rearrange the magnets on the refrigerator!
Whatever it may be it's art therapy for you and you wouldn't believe
how the creative cells need stimulation! It's amazing how small projects
help you throughout your life. I think being creative helps you to
become a better problem solver!
Aquarius: January 20-February 17
Ah the
Aquarius in you is thinking of extraordinary Halloween costumes. There
are so many fantastic choices!
But make sure your costume has interesting hair or a cool wig! I will
give you examples of things I have
been... As a child I was Wonder Woman for three years in a row! Two
of which I lost the wonder woman
mask and had to use a Barbie (my sisters) mask with the wonder woman
body .. Talk about a feminist
statement at five! Linda Carter surely had big hair, she also fought
crime without smudging a lash..
However did she do it?????
I have
been raggedy ann., pippy long stocking, a cowgirl, vampire, Cheshire
Cat, a tree, Miss Spider,
Sort of a gothic spider, Calvin and Hobbes, witch, an alien (including
skirt with a million google eyes),
I am sure there are more and I can't think of the rest right now..
The point is you can be whatever you
want Virgo and so can everybody else! I am thinking of being Endora
from Bewitched this year.. She is
sort of the ultimate drag show thing.. Well who knows I might change
my mind by then. And so can you!
Pisces: February18-March 19
Pisces
you are fickle and lovely aren't you...
Sometimes
you are a bit of a dreamer, not so much in the Scarlet O'Hara way.
Much more in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer sort of thing. It's the
whole "what to do today" winter melancholy that you work
out season after season. I say make some snow angels, learn to ice
skate. Live it up like fall and winter are yours.(Just protect your
hair, wink wink)
Aries: March 21-April 19
All Aries
like to shake it up a bit, create a little stir with their hair color.
Most especially in fall!
How much stirring is really the debate with yourself!
This season
brings with it the return of the shaggy or shattered bob, so why not
add a little highlight
or perhaps a lot?
Because
your hair wants to live it up a bit and enjoy the texture., color
is limited by your own
characterization of what hair color should be. So start dreaming Aries,
I am quite sure that you have fantastic Ideas that you should be sharing
with your stylist!
Taurus:
April 20-May20
The zesty
Taurus is all about the constant change, you simply cannot change
a Taurus enough..
Well then you will be very interested in the new trend of the texturized
bang. It's short , can be mod,
perhaps an Audrey Hepburn fringe, maybe an overlay bang with a peek
a boo bang underneath..
Now you're thinking... I could probably color that fringe a bit crazier
because you won't always see it..
OH my! yes you could.. and should..
Gemini:
May 21-June 21
You know
what they say about Gemini's don't you ?... really I don't know what
they say about Gemini's.
But I say that the Gemini have been kept down by bad hair opinions
from others too long!
Your (insert relative/friend of choice here)__________, has been advising
you of : a mullet/scary perm/ green hair/ hair like Kathy Lee.
IF this
is happening to you Gemini, Run! do not walk to your local bookstore
and check out the fab
resources available to you. This is part of how I stay on top of trends..
it's good to know what is
happening in fashion, remember you also have to be comfortable with
the change so that you look good!
Cancer:
June 22-July 22
It's time
to prepare your yard for the change of season, and while you are at
it.. take those leaves out
of your coif!
The natural
look can become an excuse for some if they aren't careful. I like
a natural look just as much
as the next gal,, however... when you enhance what you naturally have
via hair color you look more
vibrant and hair color can do such a beautiful job bringing out what
makes you unique
and naturally gorgeous!
It is so
easy to cover grey hair with an allover color, so easy to make one
color another color, it also
looks fake and like shoe polish! Most usually the only compliment
that anyone receives when they
color their hair solid is in the first two days because it's so shiny
from all the wax manufacturers put
in box hair color! Just let somebody else do your hair color! You
never have to worry about the mess
of hair color, plus the wait and pray while you wait for the approximate
20 to 40 minutes recommended
by box hair color is just scary!
Leave this
decision to a trained professional and I imagine that you will be
delighted and feel even
more naturally beautiful than the leaves ever did ....
Leo:
July 23-August 22
Fall brings
some fancy parties, if you aren't going to any then have one. You
know you want to .. parties
are the very best time to get together with friends and show them
how fantastic your hair is! Yeah
that sounds a little shallow.. okay so you can get together, give
them libations and some tasty snacks
and then show how fancy your hair is!
You can
wear it a little curly if your tresses are normally very straight,
perhaps straighten it for the day
if your hair is wild and wacky.
I think
using any excuse to dress up is validation enough for me! Halloween
is just around the corner
You can have so much fun with a costume if you try and maybe it will
motivate you to find a new way to wear your hair.. it most certainly
wouldn't be the first time it's happened.

What could be more fun for the summer time than a really great texturized
haircut?
The look of summer is ragged and soft at the same time. So chop..chop..
and
finish it off with a bit of Joe Grooming water based pomade.(it's
the oil and heavy
waxed based pomades that people are afraid of, currently this one
is my favorite!)
Cancer
(June 21-July 21)
Has winter played your hair out? Time for a bit of hair love.. check
out Redken Outshine,
it's great for calming hair and removing static mayhem. Work it through
damp hair for
pre styling or smooth over dry hair for shine and luxurious locks.

Leo
(July 22-August 21)
My favorite product to help straighten hair is Graham Webb Stick
Straight. It's crazy
purple goo that acts as a gel smoothing polish.. if your hair won't
blow out straight with
this then you shouldn't be straightening it anyway! which brings me
too...
Virgo
(August 22-September 21)
Loopy, gorgeous, twisted, twirl-like locks.. so whatcha gonna put
in there?
Might I suggest my new fave curl enhancing products from Redken...
Fresh Curls.
It's a combination of cocunut oil, calcium, and honey. I really love
this because it
makes hair so soft and the curls are defrizzed but not weighed down.
You will
simply want to eat it up..
Libra
(September 22-October 22)
With summer upon us, it has also brought humidity.. a hair villan.
Fine hair doesn't look
so zestascious when the humidity rears it's ugly head.. My pick for
plumping up hair and
lifting your tresses is Artec Volumizing Hair Gel. It smells
kiwirific, and there's sunscreen
in every bottle.. I also really like the Artec texture foam if you
prefer a mousse.
Scorpio
(October 23-November 21)
Who's a superstar? hmmm.. it's you.. so shake of that late night and
try some funky style
dreadlocks.. cool thing is you can wash them out and your hair isn't
a mass of dead twisted cuticle woo hoo! So here's what you do.. Taking
sections starting underneath on dry hair apply gel such as Redken
Clean Lift Volume Gel combing through for even application. Then
in one inch squares of your section twist each square with pomade
(such as Redken Rewind styling paste) keep taking sections down until
completely finished with entire head. When finished use a blowdryer
and let them dry completely, then spray with a firm hold hair spray.
I like Sebastian Super Shaper, or Redken Quick Dry.
If you have long hair, you can wear this into a cool twisted dreadlock
updo.. oh you know you want to try it ..
Sagittarius
(November 22-December 20)
So my clients often ask me.. Shel, how can I get my (boyfriend,husband,brother,
best friend.. choose one here) to not have creepy crunchy poke your
eye out hair?... first things first.. Men oftentimes have to use so
much heavy gel to try to control a wrong haircut.
So give them a gift certificate to your favorite hairdresser and they
will guide them into a good grooming product. I love Joe Grooming
Compound, also the gel is really nice all the products are organic,
they have sunscreen as a rockstar bonus!
Capricorn
(December 21-January 19)
Well you have been such a great client and using all of these fabulous
products and now you have to remove the build-up.. even the very finest
high quality products will give you some build-up. It just helps you
to start over and make you hair so shiny and light feeling again.
My favorite clarifiers are Redken Hair Cleansing Cream and
Artec's Daily Clarifying Shampoo. By the way before you get
your fancy locks colored or permed clarify at home.. it makes a world
of difference!
Aquarius
(January 20-February 17)
You just got a fabulous new haircolor that is glowing and everybody
is saying how very excellent you look.. so here's the best way to
keep it! You need a gentle color care shampoo and conditioner; I like
Redken Color Extend shampoo and conditioner. There is also
a leave in that is used pre styling, it could also be put into your
bag to spray over your hair if you will be outside for the day. My
favorite coloring enhancing shampoos and conditioners are Graham
Webb, I really love the Sunfire for warm reds. They really
intensify color so you may want to add a little daily shampoo or contioner
to dillute. They Rock!
Pisces
(February 18-March 19)
Considering this site is all about the glamour.. I am giving y'all
some skincare and makeup picks as
well. The skin cleanser I most adore is kiss my face exfoliating face
wash, it smells great.. no animal ingredients, no testing. Cetaphil
is also a great cleanser, my dermatologist recommended it to me about
five years ago and I still use it today. The PH of skincare is the
most important thing aside from being non clogging. Plus these are
both pretty inexpensive. The best overall moisturizer is Kiehl's
Creme de Corps. It's such a cool company. Facial moisturizer would
have to be Philosophy Hope In a Jar.

(March 20-April 19)
Venturing into the world of makeup.. it's a zany and very staggering
place. I should preface by saying that you should always moisturize
and maintain your skin before makeup applications. There are lots
of very talented makeup artists on the scene, and I think for the
best tips for your skin tone and particulars they should be consulted.
But I do have some favorites to share.. My favorite foundation is
prescriptives luxe . It's cool because it's irridescent, skin looks
sheer and pretty. I love Aveda lipsticks, making lips
feel so cool.. slightly minty.. you will be kissable, my current fave
color is petunia.

Let's talk about how much I hate wearing eyeliner and mascara.. cos
I do! but I must say the most gentle mascara I have found is Aveda
sap moss. It's a bit more conditioning for lashes. I have recently
found something that I love.. It's Tigi's tickled pink glam powder..
they have a matching lip pencil. It's cool because it's a balance
of soft pink and gold. Crazy right .. now if more manufacturers would
jump on the bandwagon of helping us out with making multi task products
for skin tones..
Well

willed aries. Don't sell yourself short, texture is really big this
season do something layered and zestascious!

I think it's wish upon a star time to put some sparkling highlights
into your lovely locks! Even the most luxurious color needs a little
sumpin sumpin every now and then! So just ask your hairdresser for
a bit of glamour and enjoy!

that hair, I command you! It's wanting to be a little freedom! You
couldn't pick a better time than this season, Bohemian hair is the
jam! Think peasant shirt, loose bracelets and all just in time for
summer!
Cancer
(June 21-July 22)
This
is a word up to the granola in you! You can use apple cider vinegar
as a natural hair clarifier. Cleanse hair with salon prescribed shampoo,
rinse , towel blot and then use a small handful of apple cider vinegar
and work from bottom of hair up into a light lather. Rinse and shampoo
again to remove the fragrant smell of the vinegar. Lightly condition
and you are on your super shiny way. *special note do not clarify
freshly colored hair, this will only make your color look hollow and
why would you want to do that ? Clarify pre color that's the smart
hair way!
Leo
(July 23-August 22)

Lucky you .... There is no fear or the return of heavy metal hair
in sight! Woohoo but now you gotta figure out what your gonna do with
your tresses! I think it's style change, try something with a new
product that you haven't used yet. Perhaps a new pomade for your ends
to help you rip it up a bit. Feeling a little frizzy then maybe it's
time for a nice polishing cream to make those curls less torture more
treasure. You can always try something new on your day off and then
if it doesn't turn out so what you can wash it! We won't look I promise!
Virgo
(August 23-September 22)

Virgo's know how to shake things up, yes they do! I think maybe it's
time for a disconnected color or cut.. This is something that when
you look at it has no start or stop point necessarily. You may have
a deeper tone underneath and brighter on top. You could try some fun
slashes of color in the middle of your hair instead of on top... come
on you know you have it in you to be hair kooky now and then.
Libra
(September 23-October 22)
Perhaps
the Libra peeps need a little hair mantra for those unavoidable bad
hair days so when they happen at least you can just move on! Okay
ready go.... When I rock my hair , I rock my hair right , Okay just
say that over and over .. You know you want to ...yeah YOU DO!
Scorpio

I have known a lot of Scorpio's In my time and let me just congratulate
you for being so supa fly! So you have already made a snow angel perhaps
it's time to find a lovely hair bonnet. I am talking about a cute
hair accessory, there are so many fun things out there. If your hair
is long find some glass sticks or chop sticks. Try a cute beaded headband
for short hair, I love these they are adorable! This is surely the
time to try out a hat and you can wear them well into spring with
the wind and what not. Almost everyone looks great with a bell shaped
or slightly wider brimmed hat. Just go and try them on and I bet you
will find one you adore!
Sagittarius

it's like so omigod and I'm like all okay whatever and their all like
uhokay, and I'm like all hey the eighties are back but in a really
cool sort of way. Think eighties moderne, can we build it yes we can
( think bob the builder here, sorry I have a plethora of nephews)!
Male clients have the greatest diversity in hair I have seen in ten
years right now! So what are you waiting for ? Jump on the hair train
before it passes right by you and then later you are waiting at the
station and wondering where the life in your hair has gone!
Capricorn

Well
seeing as you are a holiday baby you must be used to a little sparkle
and change every now and then. You know what's bad about change when
you always have a mess of layers and you never make it through the
growth period because you keep cutting it before then. You should
then have short hair and that's word . If you have long hair and it's
all shagadelic and what not then perhaps it's a good idea to bring
up the back and angle it for a really supasass modern look!
Aquarius
(January 20-February 18)
Water
sign, well a tip for the swimmers, go under the shower before you
swim and get your hair wet then put some conditioner and leave it
in baby! I have learned that chlorine is not the culprit in making
your hair green . Chlorine is a bleach and that's why it eats swimsuits
so imagine what it can do to your precious fiber we call hair... Copper
piping and minerals in water is what turns hair green after it has
been lightening with the chlorine. So technically you are coloring
your hair in the most frightening way possible via swimming without
taking care of it. When you get out of the water wash it immediately
with a gentle clarifying shampoo. Your best bet is a super glam swim
cap ... vintage ones are so gorgeous!
Pisces
(February 19-March 20)
So
as you're scavenging through pages and pages of stuff you have saved
to bring to your hairdresser... I know everybody does this so don't
sweat it! Put your thumb over the face, do you still like the style
or was it perhaps the eyebrows of the model you loved! Find what these
pics have in common and then you will know what it is exactly you
are looking for. Is it the color or is it the cut?? Do you love the
flippy thing or do they all have bangs. It doesn't take a crystal
ball just some common sense that I know the Pisces people have!
